BLOG

A blog is a frequently updated online personal journal or diary. It is a place to express yourself to the world. A place to share your thoughts and your passions. Really, it’s anything you want it to be. For our purposes we’ll say that a blog is your own website that you are going to update on an ongoing basis. Blog is a short form for the word weblog and the two words are used interchangeably.

Portal

Web portal is a specially designed website that often serves as the single point of access for information. It can also be considered a library of personalized and categorized content. A web portal helps in search navigation, personalization, notification and information integration, and often provides features like task management, collaboration, and business intelligence and application integration.

Web portals are also known simply as portals.

Wiki

A wiki is a Web site that allows users to add and update content on the site using their own Web browser. This is made possible by Wiki software that runs on the Web server. Wikis end up being created mainly by a collaborative effort of the site visitors. A great example of a large wiki is the Wikipedia, a free encyclopedia in many languages that anyone can edit. The term "wiki" comes from the Hawaiian phrase, "wiki wiki," which means "super fast." I guess if you have thousands of users adding content to a Web site on a regular basis, the site could grow "super fast."

Social online network

Social online network as "A website that provides a virtual community for people interested in a particular subject or just to 'hang out' together." While this is an accurate description, a more detailed definition of online social networking would also encompass all of the ways people can connect.

Online networks such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and LinkedIn all offer users a variety of ways to increase their networks, share notes and various types of media, and connect on a variety of levels.

WORLD WIDE WEB (WWW)

The World Wide Web or the Web consists of a worldwide collection of electronic documents. Each electronic document on the Web is called a web page which can contain text, graphics, audio and video. These pages are written in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML).
Every website has an address or Uniform Resource Locator (URL). The URL is formed by the protocol, domain, directory and the document name.

EMAIL
An electronic mail or email is the transmission of messages and files via a computer network.
A user utilises an email program to create, send, receive, forward, store, print and delete email messages. Some emails are called web-based email like Yahoo Mail and Hotmail.

INSTANT MESSANGING
Instant messaging, often shortened to IM or IM'ing, is the exchange of near real-time messages through a stand-alone application or embedded software. Unlike chat rooms with many users engaging in multiple and overlapping conversations, IM sessions usually take place between two users in a private, back-and-forth style of communication.

FILE TRANSFER PROTOCOL
a standard network protocol used for the transfer of computer files between a client and server on a computer network. FTP is built on a client-server model architecture and uses separate control and data connections between the client and the server.

 Fed up with walking?
Fed up waiting for the bus?
Just plain fed up?
It’s time you met the Smacircle S1.
It’s the world’s smallest, most lightweight folding ebike. It fits into a rucksack and weighs just 7kg. In five easy steps it pops up into a snazzy runaround. The tiny wheels and yoga-roll seat will put you into an instantly giddy mood. It’s made from carbon fibre and the silent 240w motor is powered by a Samsung battery which is good for about 12 miles on a 2.5-hour charge. Twist the throttle and you’ll whizz along at up to 12mph. There are no pedals and, rather than brakes, it has embedded stoppers which slow the engine rather than the wheels. The bike is linked to your phone and it’s through an app that you lock and unlock it. Bet you feel better already.

MITU Block Robot

Now Xiaomi is bringing more advanced toys to the masses through an app controlled building blocks robot called MITU Block Robot. Grown-ups, brace yourself — you will have to fight with kids your right to play with this toy.
According to Xiaomi’s official website, MITU Block Robot will be governed by 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 chip with 72 MHz frequency. Its operating system allows it to perform coordinated actions. Gyroscope sensor helps to keep it upright on the go or after hitting other objects. As the website claims, the robot can carry loads up to 3 kg.
MITU Block Robot has not only a robot disguise. It can transform into dinosaur or an aircraft as well.
Construction process resembles the one with Lego bricks, however, results in a robot, one is able to actually bring to life.
A total of 978 pieces enables the user to follow his imagination and assemble a robot other than the three above. The parts are easy to put together and are made out of hypoallergenic polycarbonate. They are colored in orange, white and gray with two black rubberized wheels.
Xiaomi robot can be put into motion and steered by an app. To get a full control of it three control modes come in handy: joystick mode, gyro mode, and path mode. The latter is an interesting one, as the user creates a route for a robot to follow as with GPS. With a help of tutorials the user learns a unique graphical programming mode which enables to program a sequence of various moves and even teach the robot how to dance.
Mi Bunny Block Robot measures 38×32×9 cmand comes with four USB Type-C ports. A 1700 mAh battery is stationed on board, expanding an overwhelming experience with the robot.
There are not so many companies engaged in making complicated toys like this. With a MITU Block Robot Xiaomi threw its hat in the ring to develop intellectual and interactive toys.
